The Salaam Centre is a ground-breaking example of a cultural hub, created by the Muslim community for all to enjoy. The centre is located in Coolaroo in the Northern Suburbs of Victoria. Construction on building commenced in 2019. The centre will include a library, creative hub, prayer and exhibition space, kindergarten, conference facilities and a sports hall.
The Salam Centre preserves the rich Islamic cultural heritage within a futuristic and modern facility designed for cross cultural encounters. The Centre also aims to enrich the spiritual, intellectual and physical aspects of residents and visitors, inspiring others of its kind worldwide.
It is expected that participation, interaction and cooperation around these activities will go a long way to promoting wider-community benefit, social cohesion and harmony. This approach has already won the support of federal and state members of parliament, heads of departments, several councillors and many community organisations
Salam Centre aims to be a vibrant gathering hub for the wider community, founded to bring together, connect, educate and empower families and youth to live their lives in the best way they can
When the site was purchased in 2xxx it was regarded as an opportunity to bring these aims to a reality.
